WATER SUPPLY CONTROL
METROPOLITAN BOARD MOUNT EDEN MAYOR'S VIEWS Reference to the recent conference of local bodies regarding water supply control was made by Mr. S. E. Chappell at a meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening. He said that at the conference a proposal that a metropolitan water supply board should be established was made on behalf of a number of suburban authorities, whose representations the City Council had promised to consider, "One thing is certain," said the Mayor, Mr. T. McNab. "It does not matter what the City Council's answer is, we will have the board." Mr. It. J. Mills said it did not matter greatly what happened provided cheap water was obtained for the people.
