ORDERS TO RETURN
HUSBANDS AND WIVES MANY PETITIONS GRANTED "CHILDREN TOO MUCH FOR HIM" Sixteen petitions for the restitution of conjugal rights were granted in the Supreme Court yesterday bv Mr. Justice Herdman and Mr. Justice Ostler. "The children are too much for him," said Mrs. Eliza Lynch (Mr. Oliphant), in explaining to the Court why her husband, Robert Francis Lynch, had left and declined to return. "He is old and nervous; that is the chief trouble," she said. Counsel explained that there were six children by the first marriage. The second marriage took place in September, 1925. "Do you want him back?" asked Mr. Justice Herdman. Petitioner: I don't mind if he comes back at all. Yes, I want him back, if he will conic back. His Honor: You don't seem to bo very enthusiastic. Petitioner: He is my chief support. I am rather fond of him, although ho is old. An order was made for respondent to return to petitioner within 14 days. "He seems to find the tie of marriage irksome," said Mrs. Pearl Ellen McGertv (Mr. Fleming), when asked why her husband, Ernest John McGertv, had repeatedly declined to return to her. She said they were married in April, 1019. but some years ago her husband had sold tho homo against her wishes and left her. An order was made for his return to her within days. in applying for an order for the restitution ot conjugal rights against Alice McKeown, Richard Victor 'McKeown (Mr. Matthews) said ho was married in July, 1927, and lived with his wife at Auckland. By occupation he was a baker, which entailed going to bed" early at night so as to riso early in the morning. As a result he was not able to go to dances with his wife and this caused an estrangement. She became colder in her attitude and ultimately left him in January this year. An order was granted. Orders for the respondent to return to the petitioner within a stated period were made in tho following cases: —Cyril Bernard Watkin (Mr. Bayly), against Iris Sibyl Watkin; Henry Robert Swan (Mr. Meek), against Alma Florence Swan; Thomas Patrick Carville (Mr. Sneddon), against Vivian Genesta Carville; Philip James Western (Mr. I?. J. Coates), against Winifred May Western; Eveline Phyllis Blair (Mr. Haddow), against John Blair; Herbert Reginald Hobday (Mr. Dickson), against Ethel Isabel Hobday, Ivy Josephine Scott (Mr. Hart), against Arthur James Scott; Reginald George Hodges (Mr. Singer), against Gertrude Eleanor Hodges; Dorothy Aileen IJollings (Mr. Singer), against Walter Roland Hollings.
