CRICKET
R.V. CLUB'S FUNCTION Members of the R.V. cricket teain, winners of the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association/a senior grade championship, were entertained on Saturday evening at a successful social function. The championship shield was presented to Mr. A. Cloke by Mr. .T. F W. Dickson, who eulogised the sporting features of the iR.V. team. Mr. iA. Harvey presented bats to tho following players:—N.'S. Goldsworthy, for the best batting average of 49.7; W. Peebles, for the best bowling performance: A. Cloke, for the most moritorious innings; and S. Guiniven. for the highest score in the deciding match. Prior to his departure for England "\V. Peebles was presented with a championship cap. The chairman, Mr. E. Griffiths, presented Mr. A. Harvey with an enlarged photograph of the R.V. team.
