LOVELOCK ACCEPTS PLACE DR. PORRITT AS MANAGER [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS WELLINGTON, Saturday It was announced to-day by Mr. H. McCormick, chairman of the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Council, that a cablegram had been received from Mr. Evan Hunter, secretary of the British Empire Games Council for England, stating that J. E. Lov«lock had accepted the place allotted him in the New Zealand team to compete at the British Km pire Games next August, and that Dr. A. E. Porritt bad agreed to act as manager of the team. Lovelock, who is at Oxford University, has been nominated for the halfmile and one mile events.
