SHOOTING ACCIDENTS
MISHAP TO SPORTSMAN INJURED IN THE ARM [rnoM oun own correspondent] AVHANGAREI. Sunday While out duck-shooting on the banks of the .Jordon River at Iluatangata East, about 12 miles from Whangarci, Mr. F. Whitehead, aged 30 years, a married man, of Hikurangi, suffered severe injuries to his left arm. jVlr. Whitehead was carrying his shotgun, when he slipped and fell receiving the full charge of one barrel in the arm. His companion, Mr. A. Goodhew, saw the accident from tho other side of tho river, and with the assistance of a neighbouring farmer had the injured man taken to the Whangarci "Hospital, where he was operated upon this evening. His general condition is satisfactory.
YOUTH IN HOSPITAL CONDITION NOT SERIOUS [l'-nost oup own con respondent 1 HAMILTON, Sunday As the result of an accidental discharge of a shotgun while lie was out duck-shooting yesterday, Andrew Riverland, aged 37, of Ohincwai, was admitted to the Waikato Hospital in the afternoon suffering from a wound in the left arm. His condition is not serious.
