CYCLIST'S ORDEAL
CAUGHT IN BLIZZARD TOES FROZEN ON RIDE (Received April 22, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. April 22 While Ossie Nicholson was testing the route for the Alpine Centenary cycle race from Harrictville to Hotham, he was caught in a blizzard and had his toes frozen. He finished the test with his socks soaked with brandy. Motor-cars had to be driven ahead to make tracks in the snow. Nicholson covered 13J 'miles and climbed 3300 ft. in 90 minutes.
