AUSTRALIAN EXPORTS CONFERENCE THIS WEEK CANBERRA April 21 Proposals for the regulation of exports of certain primary products will be formulated at a conference to be held in Sydney next week between the Minister of Commerce, Mr. F. H. Stewart, and the State Ministers of Agriculture. The proposals, when completed, will be submitted to the various State Governments, which are expected to announce their general policies within ahout a month. Then there will be a further conference of the Federal and State Governments probably in conjunction with the Loan Council during June, when the plans will be advanced a further stage.
DAIRYING INDUSTRY NEW ZEALAND ATTITUDE COMMENT IN LONDON LONDON. April 20 Mr. S. M. Bruce's speech at Canberra, in conjunction with the definition by the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr. G. W. Forbes, of the attitude of the dairying industry, is regarded, as significant in political circles in London. While Britain has no intention of varying the Ottawa agreements in regard to dairy produce, except by agreement, the fact that its meat obligations will end on June 30, involving prior negotiations with the Dominions, may provide an opEortunity of raising at the same time the auestion of dairy imports.
MEAT FOR BRITAIN BIG COUP PREDICTED LONDON. April 20 The Yorkshire Observer says the Australian meat dealers are planning a big coup in the English markets. Modified storage methods will make possible the arrival of chilled beef in the same excellent condition as Argentine. The success of the campaign -would seriously affect the Argentine while indirectly injuring British industries.
