ASSOCIATION WORK
Prior to the monthly meeting of directors Mrs. J. Bradstreet, who is about to leave New Zealand and live in Italy, led the devotional service. Miss Jean Stevenson was also present from Wellington and conferred with the board on finance plans, including a street day, shortly to be undertaken. A credit balance on the month's working was reported, based on the subscribers' list, hostel and cafeteria returns.
A recommendation was sent to the Y.W.C.A. of New Zealand that Mrs. J. Cornes, junr., and Mrs. J. Bradstreet, together with Miss Stevenson, bo appointed delegates to the World's Council meeting in Geneva next August. The chief features of the general secretary's report were the large enrolment in health education classes; tlw completed plans for an excellent series of classes for unemployed girls and the revived interest in Holiday House. It was stated that practices were well advanced for the production of " Gaiety Girl " at the end of May. An appeal was made for replenishing the association library. , A report of the New Zealand Conference of Associations, held near Wellington during Faster, was heard from Mrs. T. Clark. Mrs. A. H. Henderson, Mrs. H. F. Wright and staff members.
