EX-SERVICE WOMEN
ANNUAL DINNER HELD
The annual dinner given by the Auckland Ex-service Women's Association for members and visitors was held at the Lyceum Club on Saturday evening. On arrival the guests were received in the lounge by tho president, Mrs. E. M. Gould, who wore a frock of cherry rod georgette with black and white relief. Assisting her were tho vice-presidents, Mrs. G. Garlick, who wore Chinese red lace, Mrs. R. Grieve, in purple georgette, and Mrs. A. Buchanan, wearing black georgetto with white spray. Bowls of blue hydrangeas in the lounge made a striking contrast to tho soft rose velvet hangings on tho stage. Gold-shaded zinnias and blue delphiniums decorated tho dinner tables, these being the association colours. Various toasts were proposed by tho vice-presidents and, following dinner, the party attended ono of the theatres in tho city. Among those present were: Mrs. G. W. Hutchison, Mayoress of Auckland, who wore a frock of black georgette relieved with gold; Miss J. Mowbray, black lace over ice-blue satin; Miss Mirams (representing the Returned Army Nursing Sisters' Association), black lace; Miss S. V. Luxford (hon. treasurer), cyclamen georgette with silver sequinned cape; Mrs. Ranfurly Smith (lion, secretary), Indian red georgette; Mrs. M. Hirst, black lace; Mrs. J. A. Luxford, black georgette; Mrs. J. Dawson, moonlight blue chiffon; Mrs. R. T. Michaels (life member), blaok lace; Mrs. R. Deck, gold and bottle green metal mesh and satin; Mrs. A. C. Jacob, cedar brown velvet; Mrs. W. McComb, black lace; Mrs. E. Guthrie-Rice, delft blue georgette with coatee; Mrs. P. W. Wilkes, black georgette with shoulder cape; Mrs. Carruthers, black georgette with Cuban orange coatee; Mrs. G. F. A. Lewin, royal blue taffeta; Mrs. Osmers, navy lace; Miss Heath Slater, cinnamon brown lace; Miss N. L. Dash, cameo pink taffeta; Miss E. M. Ernest, almond green lace; Miss M. Mendelssohn, red and black striped georgette; Miss M. Norrish, Naples blue coin spotted georgette; Miss Wilkinson Smith, nigger velvet; Miss D. V. R. Slater, bottle green georgette; Miss C. L. Chalmers, cardinal red georgette.
