ANZAC REUNION

ARMY NURSING SISTERS

The annual reunion and goneral meeting of the New Zealand Returned Army Nursing Sisters was held in tho lounge of the Lyceum Club on Saturday afternoon.

Miss Early, the retiring president, opened tho meeting by asking members to stand and observe one minute's silenco in honour of those who gave their lives during tho Great War, and in memory also of Miss Murray, a member who died during tho year. Tho annual report and balance-sheet were read and approved. Miss Wright was elected president for the coming year, upon Miss Early's retirement, with Miss Martyn as secretary and Miss Hood as assistant-secretary. Miss A. Bagley was also elected a life vicepresident of the association. Miss Wright and Miss Martyn were chosen as the delegates to tho National Council of Women for tho forthcoming year. An executive committeo of tho following members was set up:—Mesdaines Spencer, do Jaurnoy, Warren, Reed and Misses Bird, Mirams and Wright. It was decided that an effort to raise funds to assist the wives and families of returned soldiers would be made again this year since last year's effort had been well worth while, almost £92 having been raised. A "bring-and-buy" salo and "gift" afternoon to bo held in Juno in the Overseas Club Rooms was finally decided upon, and for this a special committee comprising, as well as members of the executive, the following ladies Mcsdames Coates, Cooper, Webster, Mulcock, Cadoux, Wicksteed, Harcsnapo and the Misses Early, Kelly, Austin, Cunningham, Taylor, lludd, Grant and Miller—was set up. It was arranged that Mrs. Clifford and Miss Mirams should act as representatives of tho association on Anzac Day, Mrs. Clifford to placo the Army Service wreath and Miss Mirams the poppy wreath on tho Cenotaph. A vote of thanks was accorded Miss Early, the retiring president, and other members of the executive. A special vote of thanks was also voted Miss Martyn for her good work as secretary. Afternoon tea served to fill in tho remainder of a very happy afternoon.
