GAY BRONEY SCORES AGAIN TWO SURPRISE VICTORIES ORNAMENTAL'S DIVIDEND Surprise wins by Roman Mascot and Ornamental, both of whom paid doublefigures on the win machine, woro features of the second day of the Whangarci Racing Club's Autumn Meeting at Kensington Park on Saturday. Ornamental's dividend was tho best of the meeting and Roman Mascot's price was particularly good considering that she was a winner on tho first day. The conditions for racing were again excellent and the courso was benefited by the overnight rain. Tho majority of tho races provided close finishes and the mooting closod with a very exciting contest in tho Kia Ora Handicap, in which there was very little between tho -first five horses and Ornamental scored by half a head. Gay Broney was again successful in tho chief event, tho Autumn Handicap, and tho other first-day winners to complete by scoring again were Roman Mascot, Cargcn and Monanui.

Tho attendance was good and the gato receipts amounted to £IBB, an increase of about £2O compared with the second day last year. The totalisator turnover also showed an increase of £7OB 10s, amounting to £8951, against £8242 10s. Gomei\ instituted an inquiry into tho running of Winrama, compared with her effort on the first day, when she failed to shqw up. Tho judicial committee accepted, tho explanation of tho owner, trainer and jockey. Another inquiry was held regarding somo crowding that took place between D'Artagnan, Ornamental and Prolyxo near tho finish of tho Autumn Handicap. Tho occurrenco was found to bo accidental.
