AKARANA CHAMPIONSHIP A further stage of the Akarana Defence Rifle Club's service championship was completed, when the members fired 6even rounds application, ton rounds rapid, ten rounds snap, five rounds plates, and six rounds running man. Although the weather was unfavourable, good shooting was recorded. 'A. G ; Devore topped the list of competitors vVitb a fine score of 147 points. The silver spoon was won by T. Bevan. AUCKLAND CITY CLUB The final championship shoot of the Auckland City Defence Rifle Club of tbe season was fired at 200 yds and 300 yds at Penrose on Saturday. Tbe scores were the lowest registered at the ehort ranges this year, no rifleman reaching 90. Silver spoons were won by G. G. Kelly and M. Milligan. In the A grade trophy F. Bowes and H. SimiDonds tied, aild will shoot off. The B grade trophy was won by T. L. Blomtield. Scored off the rifle were;— A Grade.—F. Bowes, 14, 44—88; 11. Simmonde, 47, 41—88; G. G. Kelly. 40. 47—87; C. J. M- Clark, 39. 40—79. B Grade.—T. L. Blomfield, 45. 44—89; H. Collingwood, 40, 44—84; M. Milligart, 41, 43—84; J. M. .Tessop, 41, 43—84; A. W. Harris, 42. 41—S3i J. E. Kelly. 40. 39—79; W. G. Boyd, 43, 34—77. The club championship was won by H. Simmonds. with 1033 points. F. Bowes. 1018, was runner-up, and G. G. Kelly third with 1013. The average position saw the same men placed in the same order with 92.2, 91.5 and 90.3 respectively. The final service .championship round will be fired next Saturday.
