ROAD BOARD SEATS
MT. WELLINGTON ELECTION There are six candidates for the five scats on the Mount Wellington Road Board, nominations for which closed at noon 011 Saturday. The candidates aro Mr. W. Gollan, Mr. H. Hay, Mr. G. H. Kay, Mr. R. M. McCulloch and Mr. N. Walters, the retiring members of tho board, and Mr. J. Hotham, who was a member prior to tho 1928 election. The election, which will bo held on Thursday, May 3, is tho triennial general election of the board. After a year of office two members, decided b.v lot at tlig first board meeting after tho general election, retire, but aro eligible for re-election. The following year the other three members elected at the general election retire, while all the members go out of office in tho third or general election year. There are 620 ratepayers on the roll for Mount Wellington, with from one to three votes, in accordance with tho capital value of their property, those having property of a total capital value of up to £IOOO having one vote, up to £2OOO two votes, and exceeding: £2OOO three votes. It is provided that no ratepayer can vote unless lie litis paid all rates then due by him.
