SPORTS FOR TO-DAY
RACES AT AVONDALE REPRESENTATIVE GOLF Of the many sports events which have been arranged for to-day in Auckland one of the most popular should be the Avondale Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting. Keen racing is promised and there should be a large attendance. Another outstanding event will be the KirkWindeyer Cup golf match at Middlemore between the New South Wales and New Zealand teams. Interest is always keen in schoolboy athletics, and many people will bo at the Domain this afternoon to witness the secondary schools' annual athletic championships. Judging from recent performances by the contestants, several new records should be established.
The final stages of the senior cricket competitions controlled by the Auckland Association will be reached at Eden Park this afternoon. A Suburban Association game will be played at Victoria Park. The Auckland Bowling Centre's Easter tournament will be concluded at the Carlton green to-day, when the final Easter fours and the final junior fours will be played. Club and inter-club games also will be contested.
Programmes have been arranged by the various golf clubs for the week-end. Racing events will be contested by members of the yacht clubs. Excellent entries have been received for the Auckland Cycle Club's meeting at Papatoetoe this afternoon.
