ESTATE WORTH £32,648
LATE MR. MOSS DAVIS BENEFACTOR TO AUCKLAND LONDON, March '23 The late Mr. Moss Davis, formerly of Auckland, left an estate valued at £32,648. The late Mr. Moss Davis spent the later years of his life in London and the cabled message relates to his English estate. It is understood that he has left legacies to a number of Auckland institutions. This is in keeping with the many generous bequests which he made from time to time to tiy? City of Auckland, principally works of art that have enriched the collections in the city.
Although away from the Dominion Mr. Moss Davis' interest in the Dominion and its peoplo never waned and during the Great War his home in Park Lane, London, was always open to New Zea'and soldiers. He spent practically all his time in those days and gave substantial sums of money in ministering to the comforts of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Mr. Ernest Davis and Mr. Eliot It. Davis, of Auckland, are his sons.
