BRASS BANDS CONTEST
DEMANDS OF ASSOCIATION RESENTMENT EXPRESSED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHHISTCHURCH, Friday Strong indignation was expressed at a meeting of the Christchurch bands' contest committee at the conditions laid down by the New Zealand Brass Bands' Association, under which the committee could conduct the 1935 bands' contest if their application granted. It was decided, after a long, discussion, tp make no application. ' Several members said the conditions were too drastic. The association was asking the committee to run the contest without giving then* any guarantee of a shat-e the profits. The association was on a- "good wicket," with no responsibility at all.
