RINGWORM OF THE SCALP
Ringworm of the scalp is a serious condition, because unless thorough treatment is given in the early stages, then the condition may take months and even y6ars to cure. The disease.is very infectious (therefore do not _let a child affected by it use other children s towels, clothes, etc.), very difficult to cure, and so should be under skilled medical treatment. Usually X-ray treatment is needed. This form of ringworm consists of o rough, scaly patch of any size up to one covering the whole head. It is not a ring at all, but may be of that shape. The hair must always be cut over the patch and for at least/half-an-incb bej - ond. Don't mistake this disease toi scurf —if in any doubt get medical advice. You cannot afford to take any risks with ringworm of the scalp.
