PEN-FRIENDS OVERSEAS

LETTERS FROM HOLLAND The following letter was received this week from the secretary of the International Youth Correspondence Association in Holland. The writer is evidently pleased with the response made to a previous letter, and I hope the publication of a further request will have equally good results. Please remember, however, that this correspondence exchange is only for girls and boys over fourteen years, and — important!—that the postage to Holland is 2*d. Dear Miss Morton, —Some time ago the Herald was so kind as to publish a letter I sent to you about the work of the Association for International Youth Correspondence in the New Zealand Herald. After that I received many very nice letters from boys and girls in New Zealand who had been writing to Dutch boys and girls. I distributed them in Holland to the boys nnd girls whom I think will nearly all have answered them. I was often told that they liked this correspondence very much. As there is always a great demand in Holland for addresses of correspondents in New Zealand and as I have only a few letters left, I should be very much obliged if you would be so kind to publish again something about this correspondence. I should be very glad to receive letters from boys and girls older than 14 years. For the children who havo not yet reached that age T cannot find suitable correspondents in Holland, as they have not yet learned the English language. Thanking you in anticipation, Yours sincerely, Dr. M. Nieuwkniiuis-yon Uexkull, Jan Van Goycnkade 44, Leiden (Holland).
