MISS RUTH HERRICK DOMINION COMMISSIONER [MOM OUR OWN COIinESI'ONDENT] HASTINGS, March 7 Miss H. R. Herriek, who lias been appointed Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guide Association of Now Zealand, is a member of a well-known Hawke's Bay family, and has been associated with the movement for the past six years. During this time her work has been noted for its pertinacity and unbounded interest. She first became associated with the Girl Guides in the Hawke's Bay Province in 1929, when she was made Provincial Commissioner. In 1931 Miss Ilerriek went to England, and after nearly a year of great interest and activity among Guiders there, she came back to New Zealand when she was appointed Deputy-Chief Commissioner for the Dominion. Miss Herrick's appointment was made from England with the approval of the Dominion Council.
