POPULARITY OF SCHEME IMPROVEMENT IN YIELD [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday The greatest number of cows tested by the New Zealand Co-operative Herdtestirig Association was reached in January, when 112,088 animals were handled. There was also an improvement in the- average milk and butterfat yield consequent on the favourable seasonal conditions, the production averaging 6451b. milk and 29.861b. fat. In January last year, 105,721 cows were tested, the average yield being 6231b. milk and 27.931b. fat, while in the previous January, 97,980 cows wei'e tested, and the average production was 6211b. milk and 27.571b. fat.. _ The average test has also improved, being 4.40 :in January, 1932, 4.48 in 1933, and 4.62 in 1934.
