PAPAKURA INTERESTS
LEASE OF PLAYING AREA TENDERS TO BE CALLED A decision to offer the playing area at Prince Edward Park for lease by tender for the coming; football season was reached at a meeting of the Papakura Town Board last evening. Tho chairman of tlio reserves committee, Mr. G. W. Kerr, said that the Erevious season two applications had een received for tlio nse of the ground, and the board had difficulty in deciding which npplicat-ou to grant. Consideration of an application by the Papakura Rugby League Football Club was held over. The works committee reported that a drinking fountain had been erected at the corner of Cole's Crescent. During the next few weeks it was proposed to reseal the shoulders of the Great South Koad and prepare sealed footpaths for recoating. Advice that toll call service was available to persons requiring it at .night from tho telephone box adjacent to the post office, on application first being made at the exchange office, was received by the board from the postmaster at Papakura.
