BONDS AND INVESTMENT COMMISSION OF INQUIRY [»V TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON. Saturday The commission to inquire into the methods of promotion and control of bond-issuing companies and trust and investment companies dealing in securitie.i was appointed on January 17, but it has not yet held public sittings. The chairman, Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M., who with Professor H. Belshaw and Mr. Frank E. Graham, constitutes tho commission, said to-day that they had been at work for several weeks.
"There is a great deal of preliminary work to be done before tho commission will be ready for public sittings," said Mr. Barton. " Similar circumstances have led to similar inquiries. In other countries, reports, and, in some cases legislation, are available. This must all bo studied, as it helps to indicate the lines of the inquiry."
