DAYLIGHT ROBBERIES
/ GANGS IN AMERICA / ... SENSATIONAL CRIMES NEW YORK, Feb. 2 Bandits committed four sensational daylight robberies in various parts of the / United States to-day, stealing 178,000 dollars in cash. Ona policeman Was killed and several other people !Were wounded or kidnapped. In,Pensgrove, New Jersey, four guninen escaped with 130,000 dollars, the payroll for Dupont • and De Nemours, explosive manufacturers. In Needham, Massachusetts, bandits equipped with a machine-gun invaded a bank and started firing at random, killing a policeman and wounding three others.. They escaped with 10,000 dollars. ' A bank in Rochester, New York, was invaded and 15,000 dollars were taken, fcut- nobody was injured. Finally, ■ in Coleman, Texas, bandits fetole 23,000 dollars from a bank. They covered their escape by kidnapping the (entire staff of six clerks.
