CRICKETER'S EYE CUT
WICKETKEEPER HURT STRUCK BY RISING BALL Through being struck by a cricket ball while keeping wickets for ReliefsClub A team at Waikaraka Park on' Saturday afternoon, Mr. W. Heighton, of Tawa Road, Onehunga,, suffered a severe cut over an eye and was rendered unconscious. First-aid was applied by a member of 'the St. John - Ambulance, and after receiving attention from Dr. J. McMurray Cole, the injured man was able to go to his home. When the accident occurred, Mr. Heighton, who was playing in one of the Onehunga Association's matches, was standing close up to fast deliveries. 4 A ball rose sharply, striking him above the right eye and causing a cut which necessitated the insertion of two stitches.
