MEDIUM YARDING OF SHEEP The Fanners' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports having held its "Waihou sale on Friday, when a medium yarding of sheep was penned. Fat sheep sold - readily ai late rates, store l3mbs feeing harder to quit. An extra heavy yarding of fat and store' cows sold at unchanged values, while potter bulls were slightly easier. The yarding of pigs was tho best thi3 season, and included many pens of prime baconere. All bacon pigs were in keen demand and, although only one pen realised tli© top price, £3, 50 of the heavy-weight pigs averaged £2 10s. Although values for porkers were easier than last Kale, the market waa firm at tho ruling schedule prices. A good entry of stores and weaners changed hands at satisfactory figures. Hamilton, report having held it 3 annual sale of Southdown, Shropshire Downs, Suffolk and Leicester rams at the Claudelands Showgrounds cn Friday as follows: —There was a good attendance and competition wa3 very keen, all good Quality rams realising very satisfactory prices, and about 100 per cent higher than last year. ' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, reports thus at its annual Claudelands ram fair, held on Friday, its offering comprised approximately 200 flock and 10 stud Southdown rams. This fixture, from the commencement, fchowed renewpd life this year after several years of dormancy, and with a particularly eager crowd of principally local purchasers, eager to secure their supplies fom a smaller offering than in previous years, prices jumped fully 100 per cent on those, of the last fixture, keen competition prevailing throughout the greater part of tho day. Also in favour of sellers "was the reflection of other increasing sheep values into this market and also the realisation oi farmers that tho quality of the ram is a major factor in tho production of Quality progeny. Notwithstanding the fact that a large proportion of the rams was barely of the quality of last year's offering, the demand extended to these, and they participated also in the increased rate. A most satisfactory average in the vicinity of seven guineas was secured, and practically a total clearance was eSected. There was a large attendance of buyers from outside districts and competition for many lines was very keen, practically the whole of tho offering, totalling 11,000 sheep, being sold. The prices realised exceeded expectations. Throughout the sale good competition ruled and tho very few which did not change hands under the hammer were quickly booked subsequent to tho sale at sellers' reserves. Prices similar to those of | recent sheep fairs were secured for everything offered. Saturday The North Auckland Farmers' Co-opera-tive, Limited, reports having held a sheep fair »t Herekino on Thursday, when a yarding of 4000 sheep came forward. Buyers were present from as far south as Morrinsville and all tho sheep sold under the hammer. Competition was good and for lambs and wethers wan exceptionally keen. Values were:—Two-tooth wethers, 18s 3d to 19s Id; fat black-faced ewes. 19s to 20s: four-year-old breeding owes, 15s Gd to 17s 3d; fiveycarold ewer, 13s 2d to 14s; aged ewes, Ok Gd to 12s; small lambs, 9s to lis Gd: medium. A sheep fair was also held at Victoria Valley yesterday, and although the weather was wet. this did not affect tho attendance.
