The footing was'-easier after the rain and was appreciated by several horses, who wero feeling tho effects of the hard tracks. Billy Carbine, who has not done much work since tho summer meeting, trotted eolidly over two miles.. Ho looks the picturo of good health. Stanmoor, unhoppled. paced with freedom and was keener than usual on his work. The old pacer appears to have taken a fresh lease of life and is in splendid order. Mountain Sun and Nelson Luvan (unhoppled) worked steadily over two miles, running the last milo at a 2.40 gait and going very easily. Free Gift, also unhoppled. went several lengths behind them from the mile and a-half post and was close up at the finish. Mountain Sun, who has benefited by his Christmas racing, looks improved. Nelson Luvan and Free Gift are both showing signs of returning to their best form. Anthony's Gift was allotted galloping work and appreciated his task. He has furnished wfell during the last month and is ehowing a good deal of improvement in track manners. Autunin Lu,'in harness, gave a solid display over several circuits and made no attempt to mix her gait. She has been showing signs of soreness' during the last week and will be benefited by easier tracks. Star Pronto, without being asked for any speed, stepped along freely over four laps. He has made a good recovery from his recent foot injury, but is still a triflo on the robust side. Dan Direct was keen to go fast while •working at medium pace over two miles. Ho is standing up to his tasks well and is in nice order for a winding-up process. G. Phipps stopped his Nelson Bingen— Guy Great mare.filly along for a couple of circuits and the good-look ink .novice paced in pleasing style. . Allowed to run along the ilast few -furlongs, 'she displayed useful speed. ; B.
