USE OF HITLER'S NAME

STRANGE "LETTER ENDING" " Hail Hitler " as a " letter ending," instead of the more common " Yours truly " or " Yours sincerely," has now become almost as stereotyped in Germany as the fulsome expression which it superseded. So much so that the German Labour Front have had to protest against misuse of the Nazi greeting. Certain firms have been so lacking in feeling that they appended " Hail Hitler " to the letters giving notice of dismissal to employees who would be no longer needed after the Christmas rush. Commenting on this, the La bomFront communique says: " Not only those affected but public opinion and official quarters are rightly indignant and disgusted that such letters should be signed with the name of the man under whose leadership millions of people have again found employment and a living. Notice of dismissal, especially at Christmas time, cannot be given in the name of the leader."
