A NATIONAL DAY

Sir, —Through the generous gift of Waitangi to the Dominion, Their Excellencies Lord Bledisloo and Lady Bledisloo have undoubtedly made patent to us all the historic value of the Treaty of Waitangi. History tells us that the first signatures to the treaty were made on tho morning of Thursday, February 6, 1840, and it seems that that date would be a suitable one to mark as tho National Day for New Zealand. A National Day for New Zealand will have to como sooner or later and why not take advantage of tho Waitangi celebrations and proclaim it now? Amy E. Moss.
