NORTH AUCKLAND PRICES LARGE YARDINGS REPORTED [from our own correspondent] ' WHANG AREI, Friday The North Auckland Fanners' Co-opera-tive, Limited, report holding Bales at Hukerimu and Ruawai on Wednesday. At Hukerenui there was a large yarding and competition was keen, nil lots changing hands. Values were:—Dairy cows, backward sorts, to £2 ss; store cows, £ 1 5s to £1 9b; boner cows, £1 4s to JEI Gs; poor conditioned boner cows, 14s to 37s Gd; coloured cows and calves, to £1 12s Gd; inferior sorts, £1 5s to £1 lis; yearling Shorthorn heifers, to £1 Is; 18-months-old Shorthorn steers, to £2 ss; weaner pigs, 10s to 17s. At Ruawai a large yarding came forward and competition was keen. TE AWAMUTU QUOTATIONS The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports that at the Te Awamutu sale on Thursday a medium yarding of fat sheep sold ac recent quotations. A heavy yarding of cattle came forward. Good quality beef sold ffeely up to rates at recent sales, while second quality was easier. Boner cows and potter bulls also showed a decline. A heavy yarding of pigs was penned, including many good quality porkers. Competition throughout was keen, values being on a par with those ruling at central yards. Competition was good throughout, and the whole yarding changed hands. Only a medium yarding of cattle came forward, prices remaining unchanged. WAINGARO LAMB FAIR Dalgety and Company, Limited, Hamilton, report having held the annual lamb and wether fair at the "Waingaro saleyards on Thursday. There was a smaller yarding than last year, and a very large attendance of buyers. Competition was keen and prices generally were fully 100 per cent higher than last year. The entry consisted of 1600 lambs and 567 wethers, the whols being disposed of. G. W. Vercoe ond Company, Limited, report having held the annual lamb and wether fair at Waingaro on Thursday, when a medium entry came forward. Competition for both lambs and wethers was particularly keen, and prices were fully 100 per cent in advance of those of the previous annual fair. The top price in the wether section, 23s 6d, was paid by the Paerangi Estate for a lino of 166 fat and forward two-tooth wethers, sold on account of Mr. A. McDougall, .of Te Akau. Fully the advertised number of sheep were yarded, and met with a ready sale at prices well above vendors' expectations. Buyers were present from tho Waikato and Taumarunui districts, while local buyers also competed strongly for all clnsses, A really attractive yarding was offered, and every pen wns sold under'tho hammer.
