RIVER VESSELS MENACED URGENT CALL FOR TROOPS PEKING. Nov. 10 Foreign vessels trading in the Upper Yangtse River are faced by greater perils than the famous gorges as a result of the latest Communist advances in Szechuen, which threaten to suspend river traffic. Several Red armies from the north aro converging on Kaihsien, above Wanhsien, and the commanders in Szechuen are urgently calling for more troops to stem the Communist tide, failing which they fear there is little hope of saving the river.
