BOXING
OXLEY AND PETRI E The faculty of always pleasing the spectators is not given to all boxers, but in Ted Oxley New Zealand lias a light-weight champion who crowds action into every round from gong to gong. Consequently, there is great interest in his match at the Town Hall on Monday night with Billy Petrie. the Canadian light-weight, whose record shows that he has built up a similar reputation in and around Vancouver. It Bhould be a great fight, with thrills packed into every minute of the 15 three-minute rounds. The Canadian is a great puncher with both hands, while the harder he is hit the more aggressive he becomes. In several of his fights in Canada he has been knocked down, but has come back to win cither by a knock-out or by a wide margin. He has never been knocked out and has never lost a decision after being knocked down. Oxley possesses a real knock-out punch, and whether or not the bout proes the disiance, spectators can confidently anticipate a great conteat.
