STOWAWAY'S SHORT TRIP ONE OF THE BEST CABINS After ho had been occupying one of the best cabins in tho P. and O. liner Chitral, and dining and dancing with first-class passengers, Samuel Potneroy, aged 19 years, of Melbourne, was arrested as a stowaway at Port Adelaide recently and was fined £5, in default imprisonment for seven days. Pomeroy told the Court that "things wera getting dead in Melbourne, and as the family coffers were low ho decided to take the jaunt across the water." Ho had put 011 a good lounge suit, overcoat and muffler, and had walked on board the ship. He had worried about finding a seat in the dining saloon until an obliging steward had suggested one to him.
