CROSS-COUNTRY EVENTS
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS CONTESTS AT WANGANUI [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WANGANUI, Friday Auckland and Otago teams for the New Zealand cross-country championship, to be decided to-morrow, have arrived. The visitors report that all are in good form. They say that Savidan is probably in better fettle than ever before, but they expect Barnes, the present champion, to give him a great race. Otago is generally fancied for the teams' race, but the West Coast is likely to make things interesting. The weather is fine, though threatening.
The Wellington and Christchurch teams arrived this afternoon.
