EAST COAST LOCAL BODIES RATEPAYERS' POLL PROPOSAL [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] "WAIEOA, Wednesday At a meeting of local body delegates in reference to merger proposals, a resolution was passed favouring one governing body in place of six, as at present. Copies of the resolution are to be sent to local bodies, asking them to agree to ask for legislation to enable a poll of ratepayers to be taken on the question by post.
