WOMAN CYCLIST'S CLAIM JUDGMENT FOR £lO3 GIVEN [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday Special and general damages amounting, to £lO3 14s 6d were awarded by the jury in the Supreme Court to-day to Violet Blanche Larsen, who, while riding a bicycle, was injured in last October at the corner of p?apanui Road and Bealey Avenue. There was a collision between a motorcar, 'driven by George Mazev, arid a motor-cycle, ridden by Edward Pickup, and s the car at almost tho same instant struck Miss Larsen.

The jury held that the accident was caused by the negligence of Mazey and judgment was given against him by Mr. Justice MacGregor. The jury held that Mazey was negligent in failing to keep a proper look-out, failing to give way to tho motor-cycle approaching from his right and in failing properly to manage his car so as to avoid a collision. The jury held that this negligence contributed to the accident. It was further held that Pickup had not been negligent in any of these respects and had not contributed to the accident.

The original claim was for £1234 14s 6d. Mazey was ordered to pay all costs.
