LIBERATION IN HOKIANGA [from our own correspondent] WHANGAKEI, Tueeday The Hokianga Acclimatisation Society, through the efforts of the president, Mr. G. Andrewes, has recently liberated ISO pheasants on the Rawerie side of tho county and 97 on tho Kohukohu side. During September, 200,000 trout ova will bo liberated in the streams at Mangamuka, Omahtita. and Broadwood. Some years ago many thousands woro liberated in the but the trout mado no progress owing to tho prevalence in tho streams of sawdust from tho timber mills und potash from tho hill clearings. Tho more recent liberation of trout ova has beon more successful and reports indicate that the trout are making good progress.
