AMERICAN WOMEN'S CLUBS

Her clubs are as necessary as her handkerchief and stamps to tho American woman. It is a thing the women of other countries do not understand. The clubs have beautiful premises, marvellous food, and they are filled from morning till night with tho high, gay, brittle voices of women. They always sound excited and stimulated —as if the party were just beginning to be a riot. Open any door of any American woman's club throughout tho length and breadth of New York and it will brush the same hilarious sound out at you. The inevitable " TomAtoe cocktail will begin every meal in the United States as surely as the chop-sticks accompany Chinese feeding. The two most delicious things about American repasts, whether they are eaten in a, club, restaurant or home, are their lovely crisp salads and their delicious hot bread, of which there are dozens of varieties, all equally delectable.
