THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE t / f CONCESSIONS BY SELLERS Increased business was done on the .Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, due largely to concessions by holders of many leading issues. These, with a few v exceptions, were transferred at a ' cheaper rate. Apart from an easing in offers for the 1940 4 per cent bonds, State loans were sought at ruling levels. Unchanged business was done in 1955 4 per cent bonds twice at £IOO 15s, 1949 4 per cent stock at £lOl and 1955 4 per cent stock at £IOO 12s 6d. The marked forward movement in Bank of New Zealands was maintained and a sale 2d higher at 49s 9d accompanied a similar rise in levels. Other issues strongly held were Commercials of Sydney and English, Scottish and Australian, and buyers followed the rise in quotations. Commercials of Australia were available 2d lower at 16s 4d, at which price a sale the same amount lower took place. Unions were placed at the first salo unchanged at £9 ss, but a subsequent reduction by sellers led to further business at £9 4s 6(1. There was an easing in South British Insurance, a sale 6d lower at 69s 6d representing approximately the fall in levels. New Zealands were steady and a parcel changed hands at the current rate, 52s 6d. Loan and Agency shares were active. Dominion Investments had sale 6d lower at 15s and Goldsbrough-Morts dropped lid on sale at 26s 4Jd. Loan and Mcrcantiles again sold at £45 ■ and two parcels of Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering, B preference, were released at 155,, also an unchanged price. For Colonial Sugars, buyers' limits were raised by 10s to £SB 10s and business passed at £SS 12s 6d, a rise of 12s 6d. "Westport Coals were 3d lower on sale at 12s lid and Gear Meats dropped lid to sell at 32s 6d. A parcel of New Zealand Drug was placed unchanged at 'f»6s. Waihi mining shares had strong support, offers advancing by 6d to 245. Mahakipawas and Nokomais were lower on sale, current rates being maintained in Golden Points and Okaritos. CLOSING QUOTATIONS
