BRITISH ENTEKPBISE CONSTRUCTED IN SECRET WILL RACE IN AMERICA GOOD RESULTS IN TRIALS By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (deceived August 4. 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Aug. 3 Entirely new principles in speedboat construction have been introduced in Miss Britain 111., built secretly at Hythe. The craft is to be shipped next week to America, where, on Lake St. Clair, Detroit, Mr. Hubert Scott Paine hopes to challenge Mr. Gar Wood's Miss America X. next month for the British international trophy. The new British boat is built of steel. It resembles the fuselage of a Schneider trophy seaplane. Driver and mechanic sit in a small compartment.
In secret speed trials the boat has reached a speed of 100 miles an hour. When at speed it rises well clear of the water, but when at rest it has cnly two inches of cleaiance.
, The craft cost £22,000. It is equipped with one Napier engine, which develops 1375 horse-power. It has tho lowest weight per horse-power of any similar craft ever produced.
