UNSETTLED CONDITIONS, COLD CHANCE INDICATED ]1 The Government meteorologist re* 1 ported last evening as follows:--A rather deep westerly depression is now crossing the Dominion, while an anti- | cyclone covers south-eastern Australia and is advancing eastward. Indications are for moderate to strong northerly | winds from Canterbury northward and | reaching gale force in places; south-' . | erlies south of' Canterbury and becom- l| ing general within the next 24 hours. Seas rough on the west coast, 'M rising on the east coast. In, the eastern Tasman Sea,- winds becoming south- . westerly, moderate to strong, but later decieasing. Seas rough. The weather will be unsettled, with showers at tinea in most districts, but improving tomorrow on the west coast. Tempera- ' /f tures mild at first, but a cold changuia advancing from the south. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER 'Jfak Auckland.—A light northerly wind ,| and fine weather prevailed yesterday, but the sky was overcast last evening and the conditions were unsettled 2nd threatening. Christchurch.—The weather yesterday was dull but pleasant, and i;he maximum temperature was 60 degnes. The barometer fell from 29.64 m. to 29.44 in. Dunedin. —There was a continuation of fine weather yesterday with bright B inshine in the morning and considerable cloud in the afteriioon. A light northerly wind was. blowing and conditions %verc warm and pleasant. The maxim im temperature was 56 degrees. The barometer, which fell to 29.45 in., had a rising tendency last night.
