MINOR EARTH TREMORS
... *■ MORE,AT TAUPO YESTERDAY HOT POOL SHOWS ACTIVITY .'% . ' [by telegraph—owx correspondent] TATJPO, Thursday Several earth tremors were experi-' enced in the Taupo district early this morning, the last and most noticeable one occurring at four o'clock. The shakes appeared to be similar to those experienced last Friday, and from reports received it is believed that they were restricted to this locality. For a nqinber of years there has been a hot pool on the Spa Hotel property, known as the Petroleum Pool on account of the oily scum which has always covered the surface of the water'. After the tremors last Fridayit was discovered that a blow-out had, occurred at this pool and that it had become much more active, with occasional shots of approximately 40ft. in height. ;&•
