LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
The first annual meeting of the Arapuni branch of the League of Mothers was held this week. The election of officers for the ensuing year was as follows:—President, Mrs. Clark; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Griffin. A letter from Mrs. S. 0. English provincial president, was read, after which all present stood in silonco as a mark of respect to the memory of the lato Mr. John Court. A very instructive and interesting demonstration on how to make sheepskin rugs was given by Mrs. Keogh The roll call,* " Stories of Children's Funny Sayings," caused great-amuse-ment. A competition, " A child's garment made from used material," brought many splendid entries, the prize winner being Mrs. .Tones. The garments from this competition are to bo given away to those in need. Afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames Brise, Shanahan and Williams.
