QUEST FOR SILVER
SEARCH OF RANGITIKI An extensive search for silver was made yesterday on board the New Zealand Shipping Company's motor-liner Rangitiki, which is to leave for London at daybreak to-day. Tho search commenced at 10 o'clock in the morning and continued for three hours. The search party was in charge of Detec-tive-Sergeant A. G. McHugh and Sergeant B. Thompson, who were assisted by six detectives, two sergeants, 20 constables and a number of customs officers. After the search a close watch was kept over the vessel. No silver was discovered.
