LORD BLEDISLOE

Sir, —I have read with pleasure the many appreciative opinions of this "fine old English gentleman" (that happy phrase which sums up all that has been/ is, and always should be, a complete epitome of courtesy, kindness and sympathetic understanding of his fellow man), and would respectfully suggest that His Excellency's recent visit to Auckland might be fittingly recognised by our City Council renaming the present "Waterfront Road" (which in itself has no meaning) "Bledisloe Boulevard." At a later date, should funds permit, some kind of tablet might be placed at each end of one of Auckland's most beautiful drives, as a further tribute to the English nobleman whose words and actions have given a new meaning to tho word "GovernorGeneral." A Canadian Admiuer.
