TOBACCO THEFT ALLEGED
ACCUSED DENIES CHARGES [DV TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Thursday . The retrial of Phillip Gordon Brazier on charges arising out of a burglary at the Hawko's Bay Farmers' Co-opera-'tive Stores, Dannevirko, on March 21, was commenced in the Supreme Court to-day before Mr, Justice Reed and a jury. Brazier was charged with breaking and entering tho stores and stealing tobacco and cigarettes valued at £Bl, and alternatively, with theft. He was further charged with the theft at Wellington of a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco valued at £44. the property of some person or persons unknown, and alternatively with receiving. Accused pleaded not guilty. The case will be continued to-morrow.
