DICKENS FELLOWSHIP
At tho fortnightly- meeting of tho Auckland Dickens Fellowship, tho president, Mrs. Kenneth Gordon, presided. The evening was in the charge of Mr. G. S. Bullen, who spoke on the conditions in France just prior to the revolution, and on the reactions and repercussions or the revolution on tho English, states- ! men and people. A dramatic sketch entitled "Dr. Manetto Interviewed,''-was 'given during the evening. Mr. T. Vivian 'took the part of Dr. Manette, and the 'Rer. C. E. Perkins that of Mr. Lorry. • Readings were given by Miss. Alison tPiekhiere, "A Plea for. Sydney Carlton"; Mrs. Kenneth Gordon, "Echoing Footsteps"; Mr. G. S. Bullen, 'The {Storming of the Bastille."
