WOMAN ASSAULTED
INCIDENT AT PUKEKOHE; j [from our owx correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Wednesday Investigations are boing made by th« police into a case of assault reported from Pukekohe Hill. The victim of the attack the wife of a farmer in Upper Queen Street, which travei-ses the lower slopes of the hill. "When walking, home shortly before six o'clock on Monday evening, it was alleged, the woman was overtaken by an unknown man, who struck her from behind and knocked her down. Her screams caused the man to run avtay. The attack took place at a part, of Upper Queen Street which is shaded by trees. It was a wet night and the locality, which is about a quarter of a mile beyond, the borough boundary, was a particularly dark one at the time. There are no houses within several chains. The woman had about a quarter of a mile further to go to reach home. She was not injured and continued home without seeking assistance.
