FARMERS' UNION The monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu branch was held recently. There was an exceptionally large attendance, of members present, also a number of men, who, with Mr. and Mrs. Dendy, of Morrinsville, were the guests of the afternoon. The president, Mrs. W. A. Godfrey, presided. The president made sympathetic reference to the bereavement suffered by Mrs. Lewis Eyre, members standing in silence as a mark of sympathy. Mrs. Godfrey, who was delegate to the recent conference in Wellington, gave a resume of part of the proceedings. Mrs. Godfrey was accorded appreciation for her interesting resume of the conference. Mr. W. W. Dendy, of Morrinsville, demonstrated the correct method of cutting up a lamb and the salting process. The demonstration created keen interest, and the lamb, which was donated, was sold, the proceeds going to augment the funds of the .branch. A programme was rendered by some of the visitors and was greatly appreciated. Items were given bv Mr. James, of Wellington, Mr. H. P. Hall, Mr. F. H. Barnett, and an elocutionary item by Mr. W. Godfrey. Korakonui ladies provided the afternoon tea.
