AUSTRALIAN CLUB
FORMATION IN AUCKLAND At a well-attended meeting last evening it was decided to form an Australian Club in Auckland. The objects of the club were stated to be of a purely social character and to promote closer co-operation between New Zealanders and Australians It was intended to extend a welcome to visiting Australians passing through Auckland. It was decided that all those joining before September 30 should be classed as foundation members. The following committee to organise a membership campaign was set up:—Mesdames A. Milburn and S. Burke, and Messrs. N. Walker and S. Burke Mr. L. Knight was appointed acting-honorary secretary.
