WEATHER MAINLY F)NE|B ROUGH SEAS ON COAST |H| The Government meteorologist r&> ported last evening as follows:— A very intcjiso anti-cyelono rovers the Dominion with its centro off the east roast of the South Island; The pressure has fallen considerably over south- * l 'j eastern Australia. Indications are for ill moderate to strong'southerly winds still of gale force on parts of the east coast, decreasing and later tending northerly. Seas heavy between Kaikoura- and East : Cape, moderate on the west coast of the South Island and elsewhere rough. In the eastern Tasman Sea moderate southerly winds, soon changing to northerlies and ' freshening. Seas moderate, but rising in the southern portion. The weather will be fair to fine generally, but further isolated showers between Cape Palliscr and East Cape. Temperatures cold, but becoming milder to-morrow. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland.—Fine sunny weather and" a clear sky were experienced yesterday, but a light southerly wind made the conditions cold in the shade and after sunset. The barometer was exceptionally high, being steady at .oOin, above normal after mid-day. Barometer, midnight, rising .. 30.50 in. Midnight, Tuesday . . . . 31).301n. Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum. 56deg.; minimutn, • 47deg. ' ' Wellington.—The weather yesterday was overcast with occasional glimpses of the sun. A cold wind blew from the south. Christchurch. —A bright and sunny day was experienced -yesterday with a light south-west wind and a maximum temperature of 51 decrees. Tho barometer was steady at 30.58 in. Dunedin. —Fine weather with passing cloud and a light southerly breeze prevailed yesterday. The maximum temperature was 45 degrees and the barometer, which rose rapidly on Tuesday night, registered 30.70 in. last evening.
